I Contain Multitudes

Being a black woman means...........

that I am large...

Being A Black Woman means that I contain multitudes...

I am a daughter...

I am a sister...

I am an aunt...

I am a mother...

I am a lover and giver of life

Being A Black Woman means that I am a nurturer...

I have the ability to care for my family, my friends...and my
enemies.  I provide emotional, physical, mental and spiritual
nourishment...I encourage and inspire them to reach for higher heights...I am an educator, a disciplinarian and a historian...

I am a black woman and I am beautiful....

Being a black woman means that I have the tenacity to endure all kinds of stress, all kinds of mess and all kinds of weather.  Although the strong winds are blowing in my face...still I rise!

Being a black woman means that I am a Master Processor...
for I have learned how to appreciate the process of being processed...

When they took my husband, I cried but I didn't give in...

I grew stronger....

When they sold my babies, I cried but I didn't shut up...nor did I back up....I reached for them, I screamed for them...

I became wiser....I groaned with satisfaction...knowing that the good Lord would be present with my children, with my husband and with me.....eternally connected...

I grooaaaaned with satisfaction because I knew that some
way....somehow...the good Lord would provide...I knew that the good Lord would protect us...

I grooaaaaned with satisfaction because the process that was designed to destroy me....built me up!  It was an evil plot that failed....I am not dead....I am alive....

I am black beautiful woman and I survived...I survived!
