For My Wonderful Grandfather

Childhood memories like zerberts, the monkey song, and funny face contests. Remember when tickling and giggling was the best. At a young age, not appreciating it back then. You didn’t have to, but you were my friend.
Remember when I was little you’d hold me up real high, arms spread like the wings of an eagle, you made me think I could fly. I knew no harm could come to me, while you held me up there. Thanks for always being there!
First time playing a sport, all credit goes to you. You taught me how to play catch and throw a punch or two. Nobody else in my life could come close to being, resembling anything close to a father, Nobody else except you!
If there’s anything I’ve learned as a child, it’s to watch other people. I learned how to be a man from watching you. Everything a man’s supposed to be I saw it in you. You said nothing all you did was teach by example.
Everything you did I saw and wrote it down in the manual. I’m not saying you were perfect, Of course you made mistakes But it’s the way you handled it, with all the pressure you had to face. A man is supposed to love, protect, and provide for his family…You did that!
Now I know all the essentials to having a happy family. So I’m thankful, appreciative from the bottom of my heart. Some kids don’t have anybody and that’s why life is so hard. You’re my grandfather, but better yet you’re my father. I love you, even though I can’t express it in words. I really do, I’m very special cause God sent me you.
So don’t think for one moment that I’ll forget about you. When you get that fat check you know what to do. I’m a make you proud, the way you made me proud By being there when I needed you then and even still, right now!
I wrote this because I didn’t know how to say it. I had no idea how to affectionately express it. I love you grandpa, from the bottom of my heart. I hope this will help you to understand that and to never forget it.
