Eloquently Speaking About Racism

Sometimes I Laugh...
Sometimes I cry...
Sometimes I sit back and I try to figure out why...
Why do they call the United States of America....
The land of opportunity.....
The land of the free......
The home of the brave......
As a minority, what opportunities do we have when we are still being judged by the color of skin? What opportunities do we have when our sex is still being considered on job applications? What opportunities do we have when our weight is still determining, whether or not we can effectively peform a job?
Every time I hear that song, I writhe because it's a lie! They should change the words to say, The land of opportunities if you are not an African American...
Opportunity is the chance for advancement or progress and if that is true, why are the opportunities that are presented to me, an African American Woman, different than the opportunities that are presented to a Caucasian Woman in corporate America?
Why am I, an African American Woman, highly qualified to train my Caucasian colleague, yet I'm under qualified for the position and underpaid in my training position?
Must you (America) continuously prostitute the gifts, the skills, the wisdom and knowledge that the Lord has blessed me with? God knows and God sees...what you are doing! God sees how you are mistreating me, His African American Queen.
In spite of your mistreatment, I am obligated to be obedient to you. Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free. And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him. Ephesians 6:6-9.
America, I exhort you today, not to think more highly of yourself than you ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. Romans 12:3 You can block opportunities...you can confine my growth in your companies, you can even cut my pay in half or take it all together if you like but you can't take my faith! I have come this far by faith, leaning on the Lord and trusting in His word!
No matter how bad you treat me, use or abuse me, I am going to maintain a positive attitude because I have learned how to be content in whatsoever state I am in. The more you mistreat me, the more I am going to pray and from His Holy Hills the Lord is going to answer me, time after time after time.....
